In an interview with the 'Wall Street Journal', Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer comically fluffed his words, proving that Microsoft's Xbox 360 marketng strategy has even worked wonders on the competition.

Stringer made the error during a question regarding the blockbuster movie, Da Vinci Code when he said that, "It also beat Xbox 3 in Europe in its second weekend." What Stringer meant to say was X-men 3, but he obviously had Xbox on the brain. The Wall Street Journal interviewer, Walt Mossberg was quick to correct Stringer who brushed off the error by replying , "There's an obsession!"

On the subject of videogames Stringer took the opportunity to offer some backhanded praise to Bill Gate's sales techniques, when he said, "Look, the skill of Bill Gates is he's so brilliant at his detail that when he slips in the salesmanship, most of us think: oh my God, he must be right. ... He talked on the one hand, and I loved it, he talked about Vista delayed as if the delay was normal, and then he started mocking me for delaying PS3."

Stringer also took the opportunity to talk about the power of the PS3, and defended the high price point by saying that the console is much more than a video games machine. He didn't go as far as his colleague did last week however, Phil Harrison claimed that we will not need PCs once the PS3 is launched.
