Finally, it's great news for wannabe Jedi's! Lucas Arts have confirmed that their next Star Wars game for Wii, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, will allow gamers to thrash around the Wii-mote like a lightsaber. The Nunchuck will be used for tormenting 'foes with their force powers.'

The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The game's expansive story is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

The Wii version, in development by Krome Studios, will also add an exclusive duel mode in which players can compete head-to-head with their friends to determine the ultimate Jedi Master.

"The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console's motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life," said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts. "We've worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force."

All we need now is a lightsaber attachment, so it feels like the 'real' thing.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is due for release in Spring 2008.

UPDATED: The release date is actually Spring 08 and not November 2007 as originally stated.

This is great news! However,

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is due for release in November.

According to Wikipedia (& Gamespot), the release date is Q2 2008?
Big Leon, Wikipedia is not the most reliable source plus the Hexus news normally comes from the manufacturer in terms of press releases etc.

George, I'm aware of what Wikipedia is :D

However, if you read my post and click the link I provided, you will see that the Wikipedia entry release date links to Gamespot.

Having been a member of Hexus for several years, I am also aware that the Hexus news is generally very accurate.

I was simply looking for clarification on whether the date was correct!
