We've been waiting an age in the UK for our first glimpse at the Video Marketplace on Xbox live, a service which US gamers have been enjoying since November last year. But, the service, which is used to distribute television shows and movies to Xbox 360, should be launched by the end of the year, and the Sunday Times are now reporting that Microsoft are in talks with the BBC as a possible content provider, with shows such as Planet Earth being made available for download.

"We are working diligently on multiple fronts to make it happen. The BBC is a great content provider", the senior director for media at Microsoft's content and partner strategy group, told the Times.

Other possible TV shows from the BBC may include Life Of Mars and Only Fool and Horses.
