Europe to see the goods first

id Software and Activision have announced Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars for the PC will hit European shelves on September 28, 2007 and North American store shelves beginning October 2, 2007... which is sure to piss off our US cousins no end...

The game, which is in development by Splash Damage, pits the armies of Earth’s Global Defense Force (GDF) against the invading alien Strogg in the multiplayer strategic shooter that transports players to the front lines of an epic new war for Earth.

Offering objective-based multiplayer action either online or offline with bots, Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is set within the expansive QUAKE universe in the year 2065. Gamers can choose to play as the human GDF or alien Strogg in one of five unique character classes. Employing an arsenal of weapons, vehicles and deployable armaments, players engage in an action-packed test of skill and coordinated teamwork through a series of combat objectives. Persistent character growth and achievements reward players for teamwork, while clearly defined mission and class objectives guide new players to meaningful contributions on the battlefield.

Can't wait :)
At last! I've had this on pre-order with Play for months (and that was after the initial delays).
Hopefully the wait will be worth it.
^Me Too^

Hopefully a return to the Quake gameplay we know & love, with a little something extra :)
It's, frankly, friggin' awesome!

The big difference between this and other MP assault type games (Battlefield 2, GRAW) is that the levels are designed to force you to work as a team.

For example, you HAVE to have an engineer to reconstruct the bridge and he can't do that unless there's a medic healing him as he'll be exposed to enemy fire… and both will need covering fire to keep the opposition down or they'll be toast… and seeing as you're against the clock, you either work together or lose the level…

And lone-wolfing won't work as levels aren't decided on kills but on progress…

Absolutely right,

It is more a team based game which helps people like me who don't have hot shot aims:embarrassed:

Coming from the original ET gaming scene I am hoping ET:QW can give myself and my clan a fresh new lease of life for PC gaming.
