Microsoft Game Studios' nominated games include Mass Effect

And why not? If you got something that's worth waving that willy for, then you might as well flaunt it. Microsoft are chuffed with the recent Game Critics nominations for the best Xbox 360 games at E3 this year, as well as some impressive summer statistics. The company received 38 nominations this year, 17 more than last year, which made the console the most nominated platform at this year's event.

Microsoft Game Studios' nominated games include Mass Effect for Best in Show, Best Console, and Best RPG title. Fable 2 was also nominated for Best RPG. Halo 3 garnered nods for Best Action game and Best Online Multiplayer, and Halo Wars snagged a nomination for Best Strategy game. Project Gotham Racing 4 also received a nomination for Best Racing title.

They haven't won anything yet however, the winners will announced on July 31st, but Microsoft are keen to point out their success over the summer period.

According to NPD, three of the top 10 games in June were Xbox 360 games or exclusives, including Forza Motorsport 2, Guitar Hero II and The Darkness. This marks 22 appearances for third-party titles on Xbox 360 to break the monthly top 10 best-selling games list in the past 9 months.

Other recent statistics worth noting are the 'record-breaking' attach rates of 6.1 games and 3.2 accessories sold per console. "Since launch, we’ve sold 20.1 million games, more than our next-gen competitors combined," say the big 'M'.
