Microsoft are yet to officially announce the price of the Xbox 360 Elite , which arrives in the UK on August 24th, but a number of online retailers have slated it at the same price of Ā£329.99.

Play , GAME and HMV have all listed the Xbox 360 Elite for preorder today for the price slated above, although Microsoft told Eurogamer that there is "nothing to announce at this point".

The Xbox 360 Elite will have a 120GB detachable hard drive that allows gamers to save their games and store television shows, movies, music, pictures, trailers, levels, demos and other content available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace and HDMI will allow consumers to get HD video (up to 1080p) and multichannel surround sound, all from one cable.

Saw that on gameplay site, they stated that if you preorder and the price is lower, they will charge you the lower price. Didn't mention if they would honour the preorder price if the actual price was higher on release.

Interesting thanks. I'll give GAME a ring tomorrow and see what their stance is on this.

Play usualy do that if the price is different on release they charge you the lower of the 2 prices.
Apparantly GAME are going to do some sort of promotion in-store on release. I'm sure there'll be some sort of ‘Trade-in your Premium for £x off the Elite’, and (from reading the document when i was last in), they're going to offer an in-store data transfer of some sort, obviously if you trade-in your premium, and get an elite, you'll have lost all your data, and yes, the elite comes with a HDD transfer cable, but its not much use if you've already gotten rid of your console!
is it black so you dont notice all the charring from within
