Video marketplace in 2007

Following on from the news at E3 that Microsoft has teamed up with Walt Disney to offer movie rentals via the Xbox live marketplace, comes some excellent news for European gamers. Finally, Microsoft has confirmed that the video marketplace will be available in Europe and Canada later this year!

There is no confirmed date, but Peter Moore confirmed the news.

In the US, Xbox 360 owners are now able to rent popular Disney films on demand as they become available, such as 'Bridge to Terabithia,' Miramax Film's 'The Queen' and Touchstone Pictures' 'DéjuVu.

"With the millions of Xbox 360 consoles in living rooms today with a direct, high-speed Internet connection, Xbox LIVE really has become a terrific device for the delivery of digital entertainment content."

Question is - can you get the movies off the 360 and play them on something else? I don't care if they're timebombed, I just wouldn't be able to watch a movie with my 360 sounding like a hoover in the corner.

No. It's not too bad though when there isn't a disc in it.
What ever happened to sat and cable tv channels streamed to your xbox?
I saw on a gadget show a while ago some MS head honcho with a media remote and a 360 and he was going through all the channels you would normally see on satelight.
Is this still happening?

That sounds like he was just using the 360 as a Media Center extender…. connected to a PC with a tv/sat tuner…..

You might be right but thats not the way they were talking about it.
They made it sound as though it was the next big thing for the 360 following the video marketplace.
