Sony Chairman Howard Stringer has addressed 7,000 shareholders in Tokyo and has promised to turn fortunes around in for the company, which has partly been suffering due to the heavy losses incurred from the sale of the PS3. "We will shift Sony from recovery to profitable growth," he told the audience. "I am not a foreigner. I am a Sony warrior," he said trying to reassure the audience that his dual British and US Nationality won't affect his focus on achieving the Japanese company's aspirations.

The PS3 launch was plagued with production problems, which has left some shareholders losing faith in the company, but Stinger reassured the crowd by saying that the PS3 will be a vital part of the company' future growth. "All the production problems have been solved. We are making a comeback already," said Stringer.

"We always lose money in the hardware initially, and we recover that money gradually," he said. "We believe that the PS3 going forward will be vital to our future, and succeed."

Shareholders at the event remained skeptical and didn't share the same confidence as Stringer. They obviously believe that the company need to 'walk the walk' not just 'talk the talk'.

"It's hard to think that Sony has solved all its problems," said shareholder Kazuhiko Machida.

"The Sony brand has taken a beating," he said. "I think Sony may be at a crossroads, but it's too early to say 'Banzai!"'

Shock news - Sony exec. doesn't say the company will go down the tubes!

Revelation that, eh? :) Ahem.

I don't think they'll die off either - here's hoping their a lot less complacent and derisive towards their customers.
