GTA IV episodic content bought for $50 million

During a conference call last week, Take Two's CFO, Lainie Goldstein has revealed that Microsoft will be paying $50 million to ensure that the planned episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV will be exclusively available on Xbox 360.

"The first 25 (million) is for the first episodic content package that's supposed to go out and that is in March of '08. That’s why it moved into current because it's in the next 12 months. The second 25 will be for the second episodic, the episode, and that will be later in fiscal '08," Goldstein said.

Microsoft will be hoping that the exclusive deal will result in an increase in sales of the Xbox 360 and that they will recoup some of the costs through charging for the downloadable content.

GTA will now cost £60 when you budget in this content then :(
IT was always gonna cost more for the episodic content tom.

The difference is that the PS3 will no longer have the content.

This is a huge loss for sony really. FIrst it was bad enough losing GTA which had become a ps stable and now not only losing the exclusivity on the game but missing out on the extras.
