Virtual console releases

The next batch of Wii Virtual console games this week sees the return of the NES classic Super Mario Bros. 2, which is available to download for 500 Wii points.

Alternatively, you can pick up Mach Rider, a futuristic driving game, which was originally released on the NES in 1987, featuring a level design mode enabling players to create their own courses. Mach Rider takes place in the year 2112, and planet Earth has been invaded by evil forces known as Quadrunners. The player controls Mach Rider, who travels from sector to sector on a motorcycle, searching for survivors and destroying the enemies in his path.

Last, but not least, is Blazing Lazers, a vertical scrolling shoot 'em up set in space. It features nine levels of non-stop shooting action in the darkest depths of space. Players can choose from four weapon types including bullets, waves and rings, each of which can be upgraded making them even more deadly. Blazing Lazers was originally released in 1989 for the Turbografx and is available for 600 Wii points.
