Nintendo planning a keyboard peripheral?

According to Game Informer, Nintendo are 'considering adding a keyboard peripheral to the system in order to make surfing online easier.' It's no surprise really, after all, using the Wii-mote to surf the internet is not only frustrating, but also an unnecessary work-out for your tired arms after all that fighting in Zelda.

Currently, Wii users area able to take advantage of the Opera web browser, using the pointing abilities of the Wii Remote to click on links they want to see or to zoom into any part of the screen through the motion of the controller. In addition, the Wii Remote can be used with an on-screen keyboard to make text entry as easy as point and click.

The fact of the matter is that it's not actually easy to surf with the Wii-mote, so a handy keyboard peripheral would be a very welcome addition.

The rumour is still yet to be confirmed by Nintendo.
