Virgin Radio will become the first UK station to deliver content to Wii and Playstation 3. Gamers will be able to listen to Virgin Radio UK, Virgin Radio Classic Rock, Virgin Radio Xtreme and Virgin Radio Groove as well as being able to interact with the service to buy tickets, CDs, downloads and to watch videos.

The flash capability of both consoles will allow them to handle the MP3 streams. Virgin has said that they are one of only few broadcasters to utilise the technology, thanks to the 'MP3-streaming capacity of its Virgin Radio Player'

Virgin Radio Director of digital media, James Cridland said "People are used to having control in their media consumption. A lot of that comes down to us offering the right content, at the right time in the right way. The content will always be the same whether you're accessing it through Sky, Virgin Media, online, on DAB or now through your games console."

Virgin are also working on bringing the service to the Xbox 360. No launch date for the new service has been announced.

Yeah thats good but surely they can't claim to be unique by having Flash based radio advert player?!

Still suppose you got to get what headlines you can these days when Christian O'Connell is such a limp host.
they can be unique by having one that works on the Wii/PS3 as opposed to normal PCs
