Would-be Wii hackers are going to be in for a tough time if reports on DigiTimes today are true. Apparently, Nintendo are tweaking the circuit layout of the Wii to prevent the use of console modification chips in their latest batch of consoles.

The new Wiis, which are part of new shipments of the console, have an altered circuit layout that makes modification more difficult than in earlier versions. Users attempting to mod the new consoles using current mod chips are very likely to damage the system, the site claims.

Of course, all this is going to do is slow down hackers progress with creating a mod-chip for Wii and may even put a few people off the idea altogether, but those who are persistent enough will get there in the end. Taiwanese retailers believe a new mod chip for the revised console will be available within a month.

just go to www.nvidia.com instead and get the motherboard drivers etc from there as they always update the nforce drivers etc a lot more than people like Asus. Another benefit would be the download speeds for Asus can be quite poor, so Nvidia's would be faster too boot.

- 32-BIT VISTA DRIVERS - HERE
64-BIT VISTA DRIVERS - HERE

Hope this helps :)
ah thats great thanks

Anyone tell me how to flash and update my bios? :undecided
If your willing to do this you can use the Asus liveupdate tool to flash from within windows. I cannot say if this works on vista but I've been using it on XP and MCE2005 for ages updating my BIOS on the A8N-SLI Deluxe with no adverse effects.
well im still waiting on vista to arrive so i was planning on updating via XP. Il give it a go and lets hope it doesnt screw up
