The Philadelphia Inquirer claims that a 25 year old man killed his 17-month old daughter after she pulled the plug on his Xbox. The article reveals that the unstable individual was playing 'Ghost Recon' at the time. In his statement, Tyrone Spellman, said that ,"She pulled the cord and the whole game console fell over. I thought it was broken. I popped her in the face. I picked her up and tossed her in a chair."

We're getting rather bored with the argument that violence in videogames breeds violence in the 'real world' and, although this disturbing example suggests 'the violent combat epic', Ghost Recon, may have something to do with this recent cold-blooded murder enquiry, we'd suggest that anything could have triggered this psychopath's temper.

Nevertheless, this is yet another tragic example of a violent outburst where a videogame has been the trigger of someone's temper.

Germany are currently proposing a bill for a total ban of violent videogames, will the rest of the world follow?

Very sad, but if it wasn't his daughter unplugging his Xbox, it would have been her knocking over his star wars collection or maybe getting some paint on the walls or anything else that kids do really.
He DOES however need to be sterilised though - to prevent him from ever being able to do that ever again (not for eugenics like reasons)Quote
Easy to blame videogames! I see no one mentions the fact he should of been supervising her properly instead of messing about on his Xbox.Quote

I can't believe his statement he said that he 'popped her' one.

But as confessions go its a doozyQuote
My friend's 25 and a parent, as parents go one of the best I know. Lets not generalise here.

I am guessing the he may not have been level headed at the time and been stoked up on some drugs or something. Its not the actions of a reasonable man, and thats the problem with having guns in most homes.Quote
