Take on the console jockeys or pwn the PC geeks!

Shadowrun is the new multiplayer FPS from FASA, (the guys behind Mechwarrior), based on the much-beloved RPG franchise of the same name. Shadowrun, say FASA, takes team-based combat into a new dimension with a revolutionary blend of modern weaponry and ancient magic. Players vie for supremacy in a constantly evolving battlefield where advanced technology and ancient magic provide an unprecedented and high-velocity tactical action experience.

But that’s not the best bit… the best bit is that up to 16 players can battle for control of this new world through Xbox 360-to-Windows Vista online compatibility… Yep, you read that right. Once Vista hits the shelves, PC owners will be able to get online and give those console kiddies a proper ass-whoopin’. Or, once Vista hits the shelves, Xbox 360 deadshots will be able to give those PC techno-geeks a tastes of what a real gamer can do…

For the first time ever, Xbox 360 and Windows Vista gamers can compete as a team or as foes. Xbox 360 owners and Windows Vista-based PC gamers will be able to battle for supremacy online via Windows Vista and the Xbox Live service. This raises the question, while Shadowrun gamers will battle endlessly for the right to be crowned the last man standing, who is going to be the more efficient killer: a Windows-based PC gamer or an Xbox 360 gamer? With the new cross-platform functionality, up to 16 gamers using both Windows-based PCs and the Xbox 360s will participate together in the ultimate multiplayer frag-fest.

But enough speculation on how PC and Xbox 360 gamers will fare (‘cos we all know that the PC gamers will utterly own those console jockeys), lety’s see what else Shadowrun has to offer.

In Shadowrun ancient magic co-exists with deadly weaponry. You’ll be able to purchase advanced technology and magic for each round in an arms race to improve your abilities and open new tactics for your team. You could use your cybernetic eye to spot your enemy through walls, teleport behind your opponents in the blink of an eye, trigger a hologram as a distraction and then cut them down with a burst from your rifle to clear the room before they even know you are there.
