The following 7 Sega Genesis titles have been confirmed as part of Wii's Virtual Console download service. Similar to Xbox Live Arcade it allows users to download games not only for Sega's Genesis/Mega Drive but also the NES, Super NES, and Nintendo 64 and NEC's TurboGrafx-16 systems.

The Virtual console will also be home to new games conceived by indie developers whose creativity is larger than their budgets.
