Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced that the award-winning F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon), is currently in development for the Playstation 3 and is scheduled to launch during November 2006.
Already a critical and commercial smash on the PC, F.E.A.R. will bring a new level of FPS game play to Playstation 3 with exclusive single player content designed to immerse the player deeper in the world of the F.E.A.R. team, as well as the visceral action of F.EA.R. multi-player.
Developed by Day 1 Studios in conjunction with Monolith Productions, F.E.A.R is a paranormal action thriller presented entirely in first person. An unprecedented adrenaline rush of close quarters combat seamlessly melded with the spine-tingling, shocking intensity of the paranormal unknown.

To be honest Sony shot themselves in the foot with that Killzone 2 trailer (well to me anyway). Look out proeduct will be able to do THIS... If it doesn't do THAT then I feel they've not succeeded in what they expected to achieve with the product. They've had almost a good year of R+D time over Microsoft, but I have a feeling its done them no good.
But this is Sony we're talking about - they have a long tradition of showing off renders as though they were in-game graphics - they did it for the PS2 and they're just doing the same for the PS3. It's amazing how arrogant they are towards their customers - and equally amazing how many people (even now) say they're willing to part with serious cash for the PS3 _just on the brand name alone_. I said it many months ago and I'll say it again - the PS3 will have nothing over the '360 technologically and one will cost double the other. Only the games will matter - and devs have had final 360 hardware for long enough to give it the edge.
I've no store in who wins but i must admit to wanting to see Sony be taken down a peg or two this time round.Quote
The PSP was meant to shift like hotcakes (which it did for a while), but look at how the DS has outsold it - inferior hardware yes, but its cheaper and a lot more enjoyable experience. This to me is a perfect example of people not buying on brand.
Sony have also lost their #1 exclusive title in GTA - Where as Microsoft still have good old Halo to count on, I mean whos going to buy a PS3 just to play Metal Gear Solid.Quote
Just the brand name alone will see the PS3 sly off shelves, Sony are well aware of that and they'll milk it for all it's worth.
I'm in the same boat as most of you guys though, it'll be a Wii ol' Christmas. :)Quote
