The following info appears to be some sort of joke, but a number of websites are adamant that the news is not fake. The image below is apparently from gaming magazine EDGE, although we can't be 100% until we see it with our own eyes.

The image was taken from a Norwegian website via Kotaku and appears to show a range of classic Nintendo controllers that can be plugged into the Wii-mote. If this is correct, then it means we'll have the chance to play those downloadable retro games in true old skool style!

I'm really warming to the idea of a Wii (although, like many i am not so sure about the name)

I've seen some of those new NES systems out there with wireless remotes and am really tempted. But with downloadable retro games and the chance of old controllers i might have to think about a Wii instead.

And this is from someone whos console collection consists of a NES and a Game Boy clear :)
classic nintendo controllers……… ONE OF THEM IS THE FECKING MEGADRIVE CONTROLLER!

hmm, intresting, although its nothing you cant already do on your pc, for alot cheaper

I concur, but whats that controller underneath it also? PC Engine???

It wont be there to replace PC, heck nothing could replace a PC… apart from a new more upto date PC..

but its for chilling out on.. sure you can have the lads (or lasses) round for a good ol blast on an fps or an rts or an mmopgtfsfresxyz but when you wanna have fun playing tennis with a remote control… you might need a wii..
Looks like turbografx, the american pcengine.
I'm sure they've said somewhere that they've signed up Sega to provide downloads for the old Mega Drive/Genesis games, so it makes sence to see the controller in there… shame i've never owned any of those consoles though, guess i'll have to buy new ones if I go for a Wii instead of a PS3…
