Snow
Were Take-Two overstepping the mark when they announced the controversial drug sim called 'Snow' in 2005? Snow is in fact a well-known street name for cocaine, and the real time strategy game was said to progress your character from a lowly dope dealer to a cocaine smuggler in what Take 2 called an 'edgy business strategy game.'
CNN news have now reported that the game has now been cancelled.
If you hadn't heard of the game, this is what we'll be missing:
In Snow, you become a drug kingpin who earns fame and fortune selling illegal goods across the United States. As an up and coming drug lord you can order various characters to procure, smuggle and ultimately distribute “the goods” for you. You build structures like corrupt law firms and money-laundering nightclubs to compete for greater market share against your rivals. You also will need to “take out” certain key enemies in order to protect your interests and further expand your growing drug empire.
The game plays out across most of the western hemisphere during the glory days of illegal drug smuggling from Mexico and Colombia. You start with a few pounds of pot in 1975, and by the time the game ends in 1985, you will have built a vast cocaine trading empire that spans the entire U.S.
Take-Two are no strangers to controversial games and were recently in trouble over the 'Hot Coffee' Grand Theft Auto scandal. Another title that will no doubt cause uproar is Bully. As a troublesome schoolboy, you'll laugh and cringe as you stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school, Bullworth Academy.
