Wii now has a microphone

A busy day for Wii news!

There are a couple of unconfirmed reports that have surfaced stating that the Wiimote will double up as a VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) solution. It will feature a microphone and willl store the users phonebook whilst eliminating the need for a headset

The Wii controller also has force feedback functionality and an internal speaker for audio, as well as an expansion port, with which it is possible to augment the controller with various add-ons.

It may seem rather strange to be chatting to friends via a controller, but you'll just have to imagine it's a slimline mobile phone!

We'll bring you further news as soon as we have official confirmation.

The Wii really is a bundle of suprises. It looks as though the remote is gonna have more gadgets than the box itself!
