More patent infringements settled

A while back we reported on Immersion suing Sony over patent infringements for their Dual Shock controllers as well as other technologies which Immersion alledged Sony infringed their patents on.

Immersion have just won another case, this time against Electro Source LLC, who make the Pelican range of accessories. Electro Source LLC are now a licensee of the technology meaning Immersion will receive royalties from sales of the products.

That Sony case we reported on is still on-going, with Sony filing for appeal even though they’ve been ordered to pay roughly $90 million USD in damages and interest as well as become a compulsory licensee. Microsoft settled a similar lawsuit with Immersion before it even went to court, so Sony may not have much luck.
