We have lift off!

Following on from our First Look at the aestitically pleasing liquid cooling system by Cool It systems, it seems that other companies and individuals are looking into ways of controlling the noise levels made by the 360 hard drive.

The guys from Water Cooling.com have made a fine attempt in reducing these noise levels by ripping the 360 apart, voiding the warranty of course and creating what looks like a rocket propelled space-ship!

Of course, we wouldn't recommend ripping your Xbox apart, but you've got to take your hats off to these guys for ingenuity.

10 seconds to lift off!

The following components were used in the project:

Waterblock
- 1x Aluminium flat bar
- 5x 1/8” BSP blanking plugs
- 2x G1/4” to 10/8mm compression fittings(elbow)

Other components
- 2x XSPC Passive Aluminum Reservoir
- 1x Laing Delphi DDC 12V pump
- 4x 10/8mm compression fittings(straight)
- 2x 10/8 mm T piece
- 2x 10/8mm panel mount bulkheads
- 10/7.5mm tubing
- 10/8mm tubing
- De-Ionized water
- Zerex Racing Coolant

It was an ambitious project that appearsto have been a great success, the designer said, " With the fans removed the noise level has been cut right down."

I think it looks pretty cool (excuse the pun…), but it make's it twice, if not more, the size of what it was before…

Mind you, there has to be a catch one way, or another…

Why make an already massive console, even BIGGER? That's what I don't get, as I sit here thinking about firing up the PS2 slimline.
Humm, I like it :)

I'm working on a similar idea for my pc, if I ever get around to finishing it. Shame I can't access their site atm, it looks like the reservoirs are connected in parallel and I'd be interested to know how they are balancing the flow between the two.
Yep thats fugly. You may as well decant the whiole thing into a bigger case and get some proper watercooling in there ;)

Trouble is the most noisy thing on the console will mean that its still real loud: The DVD Drive makes a helluva racket :undecided
