Qpad Gamer LowSense

Qpad Gamer LowSense

So here’s another cloth based pad, but this time we’re back to a thin pad with little cushioning behind the mouse surface. Size wise, the Qpad Gamer LowSense comes in nicely between the massive Everglide Titan and the smaller Corepad EyePad at just under 16” by 11” making it much more manageable for those with less desktop space.

The surface of the Qpad Gamer LowSense is printed with a futuristic sniper scope graphic, giving the mat an edgy, ‘cyber’ feel and look… really rather cool if hi-tech look is your bag. If you prefer cloth mats over hard plastic or metal ones, the Qpad definitely has the edge over both the Titan and EyePad in this round up. The surface itself is much smoother to the touch than the Titan, with an almost but not quite vinyl feel to it. In action this gives a near friction free mouse action with just the right amount of grip to stop the mouse skipping off too far under hectic gaming conditions.

The medium sized gaming area neatly strikes the middle ground between having lots of room to turn the DPI down and still be small enough to not dominate your desktop, though overall I still personally feel that the mat is just a bit too large to be practical. Whilst almost as thing as the EyePad, the Qpad is stiffer and with a better grip on the back meaning that there’s little if any movement of the mat on the desktop though it did take a bit of time getting the mat to lay flat after being rolled up in its tube.

Overall, whilst being less of a bullish mousing statement than the Titan, I’d have to say that the Qpad is the best of all the cloth mouse mats on review here. Its looks and surface combine to give an ideal mouse mat striking the right balance between form and function… and if I hadn’t fallen in love with the Ricochet and eXactMat, I’d be opting for the Qpad as my choice for a cloth based mouse mat.

The Qpad Gamer LowSense looks good, feels good and strikes the perfect balance between size, thickness and friction, hence our choice as top cloth based mouse mat
