Xbox 360 won’t play iTunes music

Now we all know that Microsoft have been making a big song and dance, (excuse the pun), over the Xbox 360 ability to stream music from Sony’s PSP and Apple’s iPods but it has come to light that the Xbox 360 will not be able to play any music bought through iTunes.

According to Microsoft’s Jeff Henshaw, in an interview with CNET news, it’s all to do with the DRM software the iPod runs. So tracks with iPod’s DRM on them will appear greyed out and inaccessible in the Xbox 360’s Dashboard.

Apparently, Apple were approached by Microsoft to sort out some sort of deal but the idea was shunned by the Apple dudes… And we can’t for the life of us think why…

yay for DRM! \o/
not a great surprise, apple doesn't like anyone playing iTunes tracks. Even the Motorola ROKR (great name guys!!) only plays 100 tracks.
You bet your ass it'll play drm'd WMA files.
