Microsoft has confirmed the immediate availability of three new entertainment apps for Xbox Live.

TV on-demand services from Channel 4 (4oD) and Channel Five (Demand 5), plus video-sharing service, Dailymotion, joins the likes of LOVEFiLM and blinkbox, which were added during the early December dashboard update.

The services, which will be joined by the BBC iPlayer in the new year, are available for Xbox Live gold subscribers only.

Along with a variety of new services, including the Bing search engine, the new Xbox Live dashboard update added improved Kinect functionality, allowing users to navigate channels entirely by voice control or hand gestures.

I thought the BBC wouldn't allow iplayer on the Xbox because Microsoft would only allow people with Gold membership to access it.
It's coming, but we don't know how it's going to work yet. It could be limited.
It doesn't matter - I'm still not paying for live. All this stuff is free on a PS3. Its just a pain as mine has YLOD but at least I still have my bluray player that does a damn good job of it.
