Brand-new entry Forza Motorsport 4 slips in to the top spot, knocking last week's No.1, FIFA 12, down to No.2 in the UK all-formats software chart. Forza took the crown by a margin of just 700 sales, making it the biggest Xbox 360 racing launch ever.

The second-highest new entry this week is Just Dance 3, shuffling in to the No.3 spot just ahead of newcomer PES 2012.

The new entries push post-apocalyptic shooters Rage and Gears of War 3 are down to fourth and sixth, respectively.

Dark Souls, Zumba Fitness, F1 2011 and Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge round off the top 10.

Here's the UK Interactive Entertainment Association's complete top 10 for the week ending October 15th, 2011:

  1. Forza Motorsport 4
  2. FIFA 12
  3. Just Dance 3
  4. Rage
  5. Pro Evolution Soccer 2012
  6. Gears of War 3
  7. Dark Souls
  8. Zumba Fitness
  9. F1 2011
  10. Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge

Wondered what was going to knock Fifa off of top spot. At least it's a deserving title imo
No g25/g27 support……shame as Microsoft may have actually gotten me to buy a 360 title…
Impressive considering forza would of been on sale for just 2 days in the stats but it would of had a lot of pre-orders. The live servers have been struggling to cope over the weekend because of it
Tbh I'm happy that a racing game is now top, as opposed to a blooming football game… (my opinion of course)

Hmm, and there's two copies in my household. Not a bad game at all, although there's some quirks. Quirk 1 is that my copy seems to hate having the autobraking switched off - it keeps putting the damned thing on. Quirk 2 is that my kid's copy doesn't seem to work that well with the MS Wireless Wheel - despite being logged into XBL before firing up the game, it insists that she needs to sign in again. :(

Apart from that - it looks like a worthy upgrade over Forza3 - but the purist in me hates that “rewind” feature.
