This year, Gadget Show Live 2011 takes place at Birmingham's NEC and runs from April 13 to 17. As well as showcasing future technology, wacky gadgets and the best in home computing, this year's event also sees an expansion to The Game Zone, an entire hall dedicated to gaming-related goodness.

In association with GAME, The Game Zone spans over 1000 square metres of floor space and will feature a profressional gaming tournament, family and social gaming and overclocking. It's also the place to get hands-on with Nintendo's new 3D console, the Nintendo 3DS, and get some exclusive time with the U.K. premier of Codemaster's gritty racer, DiRT 3. 2K Games will also be present showing off the highly anticipated Duke Nukem Forever, while Electronic Arts will unleash Need For Speed: Shift 2 and Portal 2 on the public. The Razer stand is the place to be to test out the Razer Onza Gaming Controller and the Razer Chimaera Wireless Gaming Headset, as well as experience Starcraft II in 3D, or you might want to soak up the atmosphere of the European Finals of Warner Bros' Mortal Kombat tournament.

Based on the highly popular Channel Five TV show, The Gadget Show Live has quadrupled in size since it began in 2009 and this year expects 100,000 visitors through the door. It features 250 of the world’s leading electronics firms, including Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, JVC, Nintendo and LG, and features many UK product premieres. New tech includes the latest smart TVs from Sony, Panasonic and LG, which boast not only the usual HD and 3D capabilities, but also a raft of streaming content and online applications.
