When Duke Nukem and his arsenal of over-the-top weapons finally arrive on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in May, he'll be bringing with him a multiplayer mode that has hardly been mentioned in the lead-up to launch.

According to the Official Xbox Magazine, via Duke4Net, comes the first details, which reveal four traditional multiplayer game modes: Dukematch Team Dukematch, Hail to the King (King of the Hill) and Capture the Babe (Capture the Flag mode).

Multiplayer will cater for eight players online, two teams of four, with one side wearing red shirts and the other team wearing blue. Ten multiplayer maps have so far been confirmed including the old West town, 'Morning Wood,' and 'Dukeburger' where minature versions of Duke will be unleashed in a large game world.

We've been waiting 12 years for this, so it better be good! Duke Nukem Forever lands on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on May 3

Now if they can make a map editor, and convert some of the classic maps over… together with also making sure all the classic weapons are include - I'll be happy :)

(And so long as it's actually possible to purchase in a shop - without having to buy it as Steam only….)
