2011 BAFTA winners announced

The BAFTA awards for the U.K. videogame industry were hosted in London last night, where Peter Molyneux was awarded a BAFTA fellowship and the film-noir action adventure Heavy Rain scooped three awards.

Mass Effect 2 unsurprisingly scooped top honour with game of the year, while the side-scrolling racing game, Twang was announced as the game to watch out for in 2011.

Family: Kinect Sports

Technology Innovation: Heavy Rain

Social Network Game: My Empire

Use of Audio: Battlefield Bad Company 2

Handheld: Cut The Rope

GAME Award: Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Original Music: Heavy Rain

Strategy: Civilization V

Artistic Achievment: God Of War 3

One To Watch: Twang

Gameplay: Super Mario Galaxy 2

Sports: F1

Multiplayer: Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit

Best Story: Heavy Rain

Best Game: Mass Effect 2
