With the continuing revival of retro gaming over the last few years spurring developers on to create ports of classic titles, and even causing some studios, such as Sega, to return to its original 2D roots with the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog 4, yet another big name in retro gaming is apparently set to make a comeback.

As reported by The Telegraph, Elie Systems Ltd, the company behind Spectrum games such as Commando and Airwolf, is working on a new ZX Spectrum that will look like the original keyboard but will come equipped with bluetooth technology.

The Telegraph claimes the new ZX Spectrum will launch in 2012 to celebrate the 30th anniverary of Sinclair's 8-bit home personal computer. The team at Elite has recently been behind the revival of the likes of Paperboy, Chuckie Egg and Alien vs. Predator, which were made available via an iPhone app, but what it has planned for this new ZX Spectrum is anybody's guess.
