UK developer, Just Add Water, whose previous projects include the downloadable PlayStation Network title, Gravity Crash, has today revealed that it is working on multiple Oddworld projects across multiple platforms.

The developer says it has been working closely for over a year now with the developer behind the Oddworld Pentalogy, Oddworld Inhabitants Inc.and will be announcing full information on the projects shortly.

There have been seven games in the Oddworld series so far, but there hasn't been a title release since 2005, when Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath received much crtiical acclaim in 2005.

"To work with the team at Oddworld has been amazing; being able to tap the minds of Lorne Lanning, Sherry McKenna and others has been fantastic,” said Just Add Water’s Managing Director Stewart Gilray.

“It’s almost symbiotic in that when something moves forward on any of the projects we just start chatting about new items, or what if we do this,” Gilray continued. “We’re all extremely excited to breathe life into the Oddworld universe and indeed to let it breathe life into us.”

With Just Add Water's expertise grounded in the digital delivery of games, it seems likely that these multiple projects may well take the form of multiple episodes of a new Oddworld series. Two years ago Jeff Braun, the American video game producer and co-founder of the developer, confirmed that the next saga in the Oddworld series is currently in development. Speaking to an audience at Wilfrid Laurier University, Braun said that the next installment will be of a cinematic quality and may come in form of episodic content.

No more news on the title of these new games, or when they might be released.

OMG OMG OMG OMG :D:D:D:D:D

I remember playing Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exodus on the PS1 when I was about 5 or 6 and absolutely loved them :D. Bought them both on PC for £1.49 a few months ago in a Steam sale.

Can't wait for these.
Awesome! I loved playing it back in the days, being chased by the sligs down dark mountain pathways always got the heart pumping
I lub Oddworld!!!! Brought them on Steam just to reminisce :)

Cool news :D
sounds good :)
Oh man i hope there is some love for the PC. Abe's Exoddus was one of my faves from the PSX but I never played the subsequent games because I didn't have the platforms :(

Possessing farts ftw!
