In development by Square Enix-owned Crystal Dynamics, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has been confirmed as the latest adventure game in the popular series.

Due for release via digital download later this year, the new adventure is said to be something total different to what we might expect from Lara's acrobatic antics.

No further details have been given on the game, but we should hear more next week as number of press get exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the title at the Game Developer's Conference on 9, March, 2010.

"Lara Croft is such an iconic character in videogames, with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light we have created what we believe is a truly original digital experience," said Darrell Gallagher, General Manager of Crystal Dynamics.
