Behind every big daddy there's a big mama

If you played the first game in the series, you'll probably be as excited as we are to get our hands on 2K Game's first person shooter, Bioshock 2, early next month.

Due for release on February 9th, Bioshock 2 will once again take us to the world of Rapture. Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. We'll play as the very first Big Daddy as we travel through the decrepit fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and our own survival. Publisher 2K Games has described Bioshock 2 as "one of the most captivating and terrifying fictional worlds ever created."

In the role of the iconic figure of Big Daddy, we'll get to utilise some new weapons, including his drill and rivet gun. The weapons in the game will have several types of ammo, similar to the first game. Alternatively, in contrast to other Big Daddies, we'll also be able to use plasmids, while "upgrade trees" will provide unique ways to upgrade them. A new feature added is the ability to dual-wield plasmids and weapons at the same time. Further Big Daddy abilities found in the first game, such as performing a shoulder dash, will also be an option.
