Cloudsurf patented by Sony - Premium service for PS3?

Sony Computer Entertainment may be one step closer to introducing a premium subscription service for the PlayStation Network as news spreads that the release of Cloudsurf, rumoured to be an online storage solution for the PS3, could be immenent.

Sony has trademarked "Cloudsurf" in late 2009 and has made no secret of the fact that it is looking at introducing premium services. The online storage system would allow users, among other things, to store saved games and configurations indefinitely.

Sony has yet to reveal exactly what "Cloudsurf"refers to, but the trademark bumph refers to a number of different services and products, not just videogames.
