Number 1

NUMBER 1
Dragon Age Origins
Developer: Bioware
Publisher: Electronic Arts

HEXUS.gaming readers love their PC games and although we rated the Xbox 360 version of Dragon Age Origins with a pretty decent score (7.5/10), it was obviously the PC version, where micromanagement is more suited to a keyboard than a joypad, that won it the number one spot in our poll.

Dragon Age Origins offers a mind-blowing amount of choice in its quests, crafting and exploration and is backed by tactically compelling combat and a rich storyline. For the dedicated RPG gamer, Dragon Age Origins has it all in abundance, with gameplay depth that we've come to expect from the masters at Bioware, plus a whole host of exciting and tactically compelling battles.

According to our readers, Dragon Age Origins isn't just the best RPG of the year, it's the best game of 2009 and has beaten off a lot of tough opposition.

In summary
The only real surprise to us is that Modern Warfare 2 isn't featured in the top 5 (it came 8th.) It may have sold millions of copies, but our readers obviously haven't enjoyed it as much as many of the reviews suggested they would. There were a few games that kept popping in and out of the top five, including Arma II, Assassin's Creed II and Forza Motorsport 3, but the top five is certainly worth of donning any gamer's shelf and covers a range of genres.

It's not missing - just not in the top 5 - I'm a big CoD fan (as in I've got at least one of them on every gaming platform that supports them) but I just didn't like MW2 as much as the older one. Sure the MP seems better (once the bugs get sorted out - e.g. mega shotguns) but the SP game isn't nearly as good.

And I'm not the only one - see the thread on the biggest disappointments of 2009 and you'll see that MW2 figures prominently.

Maybe some tasty DLC will bring MW2 back to where it rightfully belongs. I do hope so. :rockon2:

unlikely, it will probably let you use your teammates as throwing weapons, that you can dual wield….
i'd say that was a fair result alot of people round here seem to love dragon age, keep considering it myself but dunno something keeps stopping me (lack of funds or just too many games to finish)
