Slimmer, lighter and cheaper might be the in thing at this week's Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany, but just try telling that to Razer.
The manufacturer of high-end precision gaming kit has used the occasion to announce its Razer Naga mouse, a peripheral aimed at MMO players the world over. At first glance, it looks very much like a fatter version of the existing Razer Mamba.
Turn it around, and you'll see what's new. There's a 12-button thumb grid residing on the side of the mouse, creating a total of 17 programmable buttons. For MMO gamers, that could mean easy access to spells/skills without reaching for the keyboard.
In addition to the large quantity of buttons, there's the usual selection of high-end features - including a 5,600dpi laser, a 1,000Hz polling rate, tracking at up to 200 inches per second and "ultraslick" teflon feet.
Sounds like overkill for most, but if you're playing World or Warcraft, or better yet, planning on picking up Diablo 3 sometime next year, the Razer Naga will be available "soon" priced at around €79.99.
