Xbox Live's Major Nelson claims in his latest podcast that there will be "plenty of goodies" to look forward to in the next Xbox 360 dashboard update.

In addition to Facebook and Twitter integration, Major Nelson has hinted that the dashboard update will include a lot of new content, though he didn't elaborate any further.

Referring to NXE, the name of the last significant dashboard update, Major Nelson said "Whatever we call it, and it's not going to be called the NNXE, but whatever the next version of the dashboard is called, it's better with a lot of very cool new features."

One major enhancement that we can expect to see is a faster and smoother dashboard, and a significant improvement to the running of the Xbox 360 guide.

"We are making the guide faster," said Nelson also stating that the dashboard will benefit from a few tweaks.

The update, expected to arrive in the Autumn, will also add the Last.fm integration tool, which lets users stream music and create customer radio stations which can then be share with Xbox Live friends. Users can also look forward to accessing Sky content directly from their Xbox 360.

It's going to be interesting to see what other surprises Microsoft has up its sleeve.

I like the sound of the last.fm integration, completely redundant since I got my htpc but I like it anyway :p
looking forward to the speed increase in the dashboard, finding Live marketplace especially slow scince the NXE update
Although it's not mentioned there,
I'm most excited about being able to capture screenshots in-game and upload them straight to Facebook.
Im not actually all that excited, the new dashboard seems clunky by design and i cant see how it could really be speeded up, and there still isn't a web browser, and all this social networking gubbins doesn't appeal.. so.. meh? if they add a touch more polish that will do me :)

I do agree, I don't use Facebook myself presently but if using it means I can take screenshots and show my mates at the press of a couple of buttons then I'm definately there.

I don't see why any console needs a web browser though, can't imagine it ever taking off.
