A new Star Wars game based on the Cartoon Network series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is currently in development by LucasArts and Krome Studios.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is based on the events of the popular TV series and will allows players to do battle on the side of the Galactic Republic as they tackle Skakoan villain Kul Teska and go on the search for bounty hunter Cad Bane.

Boasting 30 story-driven missions, players will be able to jump into the roles of both Jedi Knights and Clone Troopers as they battle through events from the series that will lead nicely up to the upcoming second series. In addition to light-sabre combat, we can expect to utilise a range of other weaponry and vehicles, including rocket launchers, thermal detonators and jet packs.

Online and offline co-op play have been confirmed, but there’s no word as yet on whether it feature a fully-fledged multiplayer mode.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360. A release date has yet to be announced.
