There's still reports from all corners of the net that users are suffering with the Red Ring of Death issue, which renders the Xbox 360 consoler inoperable. RRoD problems were reported this month following the mandatory Xbox live update on February 3rd. The Red Ring of Death has plagued the Xbox 360 hardware since launch and in 2007 Microsoft threw $1.1 billion at the issue to extend warranties to those consoles that it believed may be affected with the manufacturing fault.

However, Microsoft claim it has now weathered the storm and there should now be a significant reduction in the amount console being sent back to HQ for repair.

Though Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg doesn't go into specifics, he does say that the repair process is now much improved

We've improved that [repair] process. It's very quick, and they may upgrade your system with the latest technology. So that works really well. What it comes down to is isolating and figuring out the issue, fixing the issue, and the more that we can fix the issue, and know it's fixed, then we're good going forward. We've put the worst behind us on this, but we know there are a few lagging systems, and so we want to take those and make it right.

Microsoft is confident that its newly released Jasper Xbox 360 will be far more reliable and won't suffer the same fate as previous versions. We should think not.

Didn't know it was so dangerous. Surprised Microsoft haven't had a lot more manslaugter charges brought against them  :surprised:

Well, it's not lethal, as such - they just sit there completely motionless and unresponsive to stimuli, occasionally dribbling; quite a lot of partners haven't even noticed and some say they prefer it… :devilish:
ms are a year or so late, but lets hope they are right :)
Have Jasper Premiums come out yet?
I still don't trust them. I'm never going to buy a XBOX360 purely because every other week someone I know says their XBOX360 has RROD'd.
