During its first-half fiscal 2008-09 conference call, Ubisoft has revealed that the sequel to Assassin's Creed is currently in development. No surprises considering the ending to the first game was left wide open.

Assassin's Creed 2, which is its working title for the moment, isn't likely to emerge until 2010 and no further details were revealed in the call.

However, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, who is apparently in the know, reckons that the sequel will be set in the 1700's, possibly during the era of The French Revolution, "several hundred year" ahead of the original game.
