Since the launch of the Playstation 3, there's been many incidents of crooks trying to get their hands on the expensive hardware to sell on, but rarely do we hear excuses for stealing the machine like this one.
At a St. Louis EB Games store, a robber walked in, picked up a videogame, took it to the counter and then whipped out a gun. He then told the member of staff that he had to have a Playstation 3 because his family were being held hostage and he needed it in order 'to save them".
Of course, the shop keeper handed it over, how could he not when this theif's family could be in potential danger?
By the time the police turned up he'd predictably vanished.
It seems strange that the robber even presented such an excuse when he didn't need to, the guy had a gun in his hand, that should have been enough to scare the shopkeeper rigid.
Perhaps his bizarre excuse was true after all...
