Microsoft has confirmed that the 60GB version of its Xbox 360 Premium console will be available to European customers this Friday, August 15th.
The latest model to enter Microsoft's ever-expanding lineup will replace the current 20GB offering. The soon-to-be-discontinued 20GB version was recently slashed in price, and has all but sold out from various retailers such as Play.com.
Microsoft states that the 60GB console offers only one key upgrade; more storage. However, users who've already purchased the 60GB console in the US have taken a look inside Microsoft's latest SKU and found a few other improvements. The new machine features relocated memory chips, which are believed to prevent heat-related problems.
As with current 65nm-based models, it'll ship with a 175 watt power supply. In comparison, the launch model shipped with a 203 watt power supply.
There's no sign of the 65nm GPU just yet, and the 60GB Xbox 360 Premium will be priced at the standard £199.99.
*Update*
Online retailers Play.com and Amazon.co.uk are now offering pre-orders for the 60GB Xbox 360 Premium at a discounted price of £179.99 and 179.98, respectively.
