Publisher to make PCs capable of running their games?

We all know what a chore it can be to get your rig running Crysis at a reasonable frame-rate. Well EA, perhaps, might have come up with the answer as, according to a blogger's post from Comic-Con, EA are going to make high-end gaming PCs specifically built to run their latest games.

Apparently, on the EA stand at Comic-Con, an 'EA rep' (so that could be anyone wearing a branded t-shirt), has mentioned that EA are looking at making PCs of differing specs, to meet the demands of the games they're publishing and the first such machine will be out in time for Crysis Warhead.

Even better, this machine will cost in the region of $600-$800 dollars. You can check the post out for yourself here, though I personally find it all a little far fetched. The market for pre-built systems is fiercely competitive and unless the rep meant that EA had a deal with the likes of Dell for branded machines, I can't see how they expect to make any in-roads into a low margin market like this.

For the less-gullible amongst us there's an easy solution to running Crysis at decent frame-rates with the eye-candy on: install XP.

Here's a juicy rumour.. EA are going to mkae PCs that can handle Crysis and Crysis Warhead.
drugs are bad mmmkay :D

so another thing that EA will probably get wrong
If this turns out to be true I'd pitty anyone having to deal with their lousy customer support.
will it come in a box that can be stood vertical or horizontal, have wireless controller ports and be plugged straight into the TV via an HDMI cable?

or in other words - are they making an XBOX360/PS3 version of crysis:warhead?..

they try and make a cheap PC to run crysis, decide its to costly and time consuming to manufacture and then someone comes along and says “why don't you just port it to consoles, it's cheaper and easier and all the fanboys will buy it in the millions just to prove to the PC gamers that the XBox/PS3 could run it all along, all the publicity/flame wars on the internet will generate attention which equals more sales of crysis which means more lovely cash for us”..

or could it be a way of saying warhead doesn't require a monster system, and my PC will run it in medium settings?
