Speaking to Games Industry.biz, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has talked frankly about the future of the company, revealing its plans to produce CGI movies, expand into new game genres and even create TV shows based on its popular brands.

Guillemot has big ambitions for the French developer and says that the main goal "is to try to get to the level of quality of Peter Jackson's Weta studios".

"We don't need to be always making the movie but what we have to do is make sure that what's necessary for our games is done close to us so we can reuse assets. Or we can have a specific relationship with a director who is going to do 3D imaging in such a way that we can also use them in our games," he continued.

As well as CGI movies, Ubisoft will also be looking at developing some of its brands into TV shows. Although, it hasn't been named, it has been confirmed to Games Industry.biz that the first TV show is already in development.

Finally, the culmination of Ubisoft's three-stage plan for global domination is to muscle in on the sport's genre, providing some much needed competition for the top titles. Part of that plan will be the release of Shaun White Snowboarding, which was announced last week , but it will interesting to see if Ubi can really step up to the challenge and develop a serious racing title, or even a football game!
