Rare's species building Piñata-filled world set for sequel

Ahead of the Microsoft Gamers Day this week, which is due to be held in San Francisco, details have slipped on one of the announcements that the company had hoped to keep under wraps.

According to Xbox 360 Fanboy, an eager Microsoft employee accidentally uploaded folders onto the company’s press site, which included a cateogory entitled Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise.

The details on the sequel to Rare's award-winning species building game have now been pulled from the site, but the guys over at NeoGaf beat Microsoft to it and managed to download some screenshots.

Just for the record, I thought Viva Pinata was all kinds of awesome! Granted, I'm a wee-bit gay in my taste of games and I happen to like all things cute and cuddly :embarrassed: Nonetheless, it was a breath of fresh air on the 360 and one of the games I played for hours on end!

It had to be one of the best games of ‘06, along with Rockstar’s Table Tennis.

Looking forward to seeing what Viva Pinata 2 has on offer. Though the first game was outstanding, there were still plenty of areas for improvement. Personally, I'd hope that Viva Pinata 2 offers a bigger world, I'd love to control a whole Pinata farm as opposed to a small(ish) patch of garden. I'd love more Live intergration too, particularly the ability to visit a friend's garden.
Yeah, love Viva Pinata, although there was a point when I just couldn't take anymore. I was overwhelmed in the garden.
