Business as usual for Potter and chums

Unsurprisingly, Electronic Arts has confirmed that it will be releasing Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to coincide with its release on cinema this November, 2008.

Just in case you haven't read J.K.Rowling's sixth book, we won't spoil the story for you here, but suffice to say that Voldermort is back and Harry Potter and Hogwarts are once again under threat.

It's business as usual as players will return to Hogwarts to help Harry survive a fraught sixth year. They'll be the chance to engage in wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in Potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.

One thing you can guarantee about EA's Potter games is that they look pretty darn good and there's always a fine representation of Hogwarts to explore. This time around EA claim that it is "building on the technological advancements of previous games in the series and with a particular focus on the unique control system of Nintendo’s Wii". Let's hope we see some innovation this time around then.

Expect Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to be released on every platform known to man this November.
