Comedy and horror for gamers

The English-born, Hollywood producer, Peter Safran, whose work includes Scary Movie and the American TV series HEIST, has hooked up with Microsoft in a deal that will see original TV content produced exclusively for Xbox live.

Saffran says the initial bulk of content will be comedy and horror-based TV content, which are apparently the type of shows that gamer's enjoy watching (I presume he's carried out a survey somewhere, personally I'm a fan of romantic dramas) and that the first content will be downloadable this Autumn.

"The Xbox is unique. It operates at a level outside of what we generally consider Web entertainment", enthused Safran.

Scott Nacas, Global marketing manager for Xbox live has stated that the deal to bring exclusive TV shows to Xbox live will be first of many.

According to Zednet, "Safran said his first round of programs would all be scripted, as opposed to reality shows, and would probably run under 10 minutes.

Saffron's TV shows will be available to an audience of approximately 10,00000 Xbox live subscribers world-wide. It's currently unknown whether the content will be available in Europe.
