Ubi seek internal growth

Following the news yesterday that Electronic Arts made an unsuccessful $2 billion bid to acquire Take-Two , Ubisoft has now expressed a firm interest in internally expanding their company and has told French newspaper, Les Echos that they are also on the lookout for an acquisition target.

The Chief Executive and President of Ubisoft Entertainment,Yves Guillemot spoke to French business daily Les Echos on Tuesday and confirmed that "EA's motivation to buy Take-Two encourages us to move faster and accelerate internal growth, but also to look for acquisition opportunities."

This is nothing new from Ubisoft, year after year the French developer claims that it is seeking potential deals, but so far nothing has materialised.

Shares in Ubisoft dropped by 1.85 pct on Monday after investors concluded that EA’s bid for Take-Two meant they wouldn't be seeking to acquire the French developer. Despite Electronic Arts owning a 20% share in Ubisoft, Guillemot has always remained adamant that their company is not for sale.
