Complete game downloads on DS

In an interview with the New York Times it's been claimed that Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed that consumers will soon be able to download full DS games and demos onto their handheld via the Wii.

The article doesn't actually quote Fils-Aime as admitting any such thing, but instead the writer makes the following statement:

Mr. Fils-Aime said that future DS device will be more tightly integrated with its Wii console. Complete games as well as game samplers will be able to be downloaded into the Wii using its broadband connection, and then transferred wirelessly to the DS.

Currently, DS gamers have to be content with downloading demos from download stations dotted across the country, but this new service will be part of Wii's Everybody's Nintendo channel, which will act as the portal for downloading games onto the DS.

The DS has enjoyed huge success again this Christmas with reports stating that approximately 50 million units now own the handheld.

A date for the new channel has yet to be announced.

I wonder what type of games you will be able to download as the built in 4MB ram does not sound like it can handle much (maybe mini games with very long waiting times) or would we, the consumers need to buy a memory expansion pack like that you get from Opera browser?
