Warp to different locations

Jumper! Not of the woolly variety you’ll be glad to hear, a game about jumpers would be kinda dull, but an adventure based on a 2008 film starring Samuel L. Jackson, where people are able to teleport through space to anywhere in the world. Now that sounds more interesting.

In conjunction with Brash Entertainment and Red Tribe & Collision, Eidos has secured the rights to publish the title. According to Eidos, an age-old battle rages between the Jumpers and the Paladins, a clandestine organization set on eliminating them from the planet. The Jumper game will extend the film’s storyline, following Griffin, a battle-hardened Jumper determined to avenge the death of his parents at the hands of the Paladins. Griffin’s quest to find the killer spans exotic locales around the world.

Jumpers is a third person fighting game which will span across 5 combat arenas: Nepal, Tokyo Streets, Griffin’s Desert Lair, Colosseum and Experimental Lab Facility. We’re promised a multi-layered fighting system with combos and finishing moves and a number of skills to unlock through the game.

The teleportation skill can be used close up enabling you to warp to a new location, enemy in tow, where you’ll be able to dish out the punishment.

Jumper is due for release to coincide with the film's release. The date penciled in is February 12th 2008. Let’s hope this isn’t another rushed game to jump on the back of film’s success. Judging by these screenshots, it’s not looking good.
